How I dealt with my anxiety?

Effective ways to cope up with anxiety

Below I have listed all the ways that really helped me and made me better. Also, I have mentioned how it helped me.

1.    Writing down your feelings

In my experience, the most effective way of dealing with anxiety is writing. I would write anything, just anything that I felt. I wrote poetry. I wrote stories. I wrote paragraphs. Whatever I could, I just wrote. This made me feel so much lighter. It was like the pain releasing my body. And now I can write for whole day and not get bored. I want to write everything I feel, whether it’s sad, happy, anxious, beautiful. It’s feels like anxiety has made me more creative.

2.    Crying

My friends and family always say that I am a crybaby. I cry when even the slightest possible things goes wrong. But let me tell you crying is not bad or weak. Rather, crying actually heals. Right after I finish crying I feel so fresh. I feel like the tears have washed away all my pains and have cleaned my eyes for me to see the beauty of life.

3.    Taking a walk alone

Whenever I feel too sad, or get too hurt, or get irritated with everything, or get anxious for no reason, I just go for a walk or to a café alone. Sometimes, I even take a day off to be alone. I just switch of the human contacts for taking time out for me to feel better. After all, only when you feel better is when you can make others feel better. This way, I prevent myself from hurting others.

4.    Meditate

I heard about meditation from one of my friend. As she says, meditation is an art of doing nothing. Today’s world is busy. We are so busy working and working that we forget that we need rest too. In the race of earning wealth, we forget to earn our health, our peace. Meditation, is this case, helps in concentrating, and brings peace in our mind. It helps us in dealing with daily stress, whether it be work stress, family stress or personal life stress.

5.    Wear what I normally don’t wear

This has always been my favorite. I am always excited to wear something that is not so-called normal. But my anxiety wouldn’t let me do that. Again the fear of being judged. But one day I actually wore a dress that I normally wouldn’t wear and at first I was scared, but sometime later, I realized how much I enjoyed that. But it’s not always about dress. It could be any new thing that you always wanted to try but were too afraid to do.

6.    Talk

We are always too afraid to share what we feel. Feelings being an inseparable part of human life must be felt and shared. But it’s too hard when what you feel is beyond what a normal person would feel. Here, what we have to understand is each one of us feels things differently because each one of us has experienced a different life. We didn’t choose to have the life we wanted. We didn’t choose to feel things this way. We have to accept what we are and share this to the ones that actually understands us, the ones who will stick with us throughout our journey, be our constant support, and motivates us.

7.    Write motivating quotes

You are your own motivator. The greatest support you need and have is you and you. Unless you have the power to motivate yourself, no YouTube influencer or motivational speaker can motivate you. I used to search for motivational quotes online, write them down and paste them on my walls where I could always see them. This always, always helped whenever I felt low. You are and always will be your truest friend and greatest support.

8.    Long bath

A long hot shower is always a best idea. It provides us with the warmth that we feel like we are lacking. It brushes away stress and worrying. You will feel super fresh and energetic.

9.    No social media

Despite various pros of social media, sometimes it can get toxic for us. Once in a while, it’s always good to take a break from what is happening in the world and be at peace alone or our loved circle. You will understand that there is a smaller and beautiful world around you. You will understand that the time you spent on social Medias could be used in better ways, with your loved ones.

10.             Loud music and dance

Always! Always!! Always!!!

Music is a real healer. It’s amazing how listening to the music can relieve you from the noises in your head. Letting your body flow with the music will make you feel free and happy. Even if it is for a few minutes or hours, you will actually love everything. You won’t be afraid or scared or worrying. Everything that you will feel is music.

11.             Shop alone

I am not that big shopaholic. Yet once in a while, I feel like spending all my savings. (But I don’t). I spend some of them on things that will make me happy. And going alone is important cause that way you will don it your way, you will deal or interact with the strangers, you will know what you really want. Treat yourself once in a while cause you deserve every bit of it.

Feel free to share any other ways you tried and turned out effective. Lets help each other. Spread love to the world.
